About
Welcome to tumblr.dilly.ca, the central location for everything that's happening in my life.Following
For the second-half of 2009 I spent most of my time at work organizing our migration to JIRA Studio. I had the pleasure of participating in a case study today and thought I’d share it!
I’ve pulled the trigger and moved by dilly.ca domain over to Tumblr, abandoning my old Wordpress blog. However, my old blog is still available at blog.dilly.ca. Unless I feel the need to move back, I’ll be getting rid of that URL in the future.
I don’t think any RSS feeds need to be updated, adding http://dilly.ca in Google Reader seems to work for me.
I’m also planning on using the Facebook connection feature to add my posts there as well.
Oh man, is this movie ever going to be sick! Currently in filming, The Expendables action movie stars some of the best from the genre:
In fact, the action during filming has gotten so intense that director Sylvester Stallone has broken his neck. To quote:
Actually, my fight with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I’m not joking. I haven’t told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards. I now have a metal plate in my neck.
I can’t wait to see this one!
I’ve managed to enable comments on Tumblr by using Disqus. It’s a pretty neat service that aggregates comments from other sites using Disqus. You can comment via Twitter or Facebook!
I initially had a configuration problem:
“This page could not be reached by Disqus. If you are testing locally or on a password-protected page…”
As I’m using a custom URL (http://tumblr.dilly.ca), I figured this may be the problem. I managed to fix it by changing my Site configuration in Disqus to use the Disqus URL (http://dilly.tumblr.com). Seems to be working fine now!
Shot of my current desktop, using GeekTool to display command line output and photos. Showing uptime and Time Machine status. Very cool!
1. Eminem - Relapse
Eminem yet again steps his game up with Relapse, an amazing tale through his struggles with addiction. Although pushed back, looking forward to Relapse 2 in 2010!
Best Song: “Hello”
And a final recap of the list:
Happy New Year!
Dylan
2. Propagandhi - Supporting Caste
Another Canadian act on the list, Propagandhi’s Supporting Caste is even more impressive to me after hearing many of the songs life during a show in San Francisco.
Best Song: “Supporting Caste”
3. Classified - Self Explanatory
Halifax’s own Classified returns with one of my favorite albums from his collection. The Choose Your Own Adventure aspect was an interesting idea.
Best Song: “Quit While You’re Ahead” (feat. Choclair, Moka Only and Maestro Fresh Wes)
4. Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones combine as an unstoppable rock force on this record! Can’t wait to see them live.
Best Song: “Elephants”
5. Rancid - Let The Dominoes Fall
Many of the tracks on Rancid’s latest effort reminded me of those on And Out Come the Wolves…, which is why Let The Dominoes Fall made the list.
Best Song: “East Bay Night”
