1. Eminem - Relapse

Eminem yet again steps his game up with Relapse, an amazing tale through his struggles with addiction.  Although pushed back, looking forward to Relapse 2 in 2010!

2. Propagandhi - Supporting Caste

Another Canadian act on the list, Propagandhi’s Supporting Caste is even more impressive to me after hearing many of the songs life during a show in San Francisco.

3. Classified - Self Explanatory

Halifax’s own Classified returns with one of my favorite albums from his collection.  The Choose Your Own Adventure aspect was an interesting idea.

Best Song: “Quit While You’re Ahead” (feat. Choclair, Moka Only and Maestro Fresh Wes)

4. Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures

Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones combine as an unstoppable rock force on this record!  Can’t wait to see them live.

Best Song: “Elephants”

5. Rancid - Let The Dominoes Fall

Many of the tracks on Rancid’s latest effort reminded me of those on And Out Come the Wolves…, which is why Let The Dominoes Fall made the list.

Best Song: “East Bay Night”

6. Matt Good - Vancouver

I hadn’t listend to Matt Good much since high school, but this album deserves all the credit it’s been receiving.  Also had an amazing performance in Victoria!

Best Song: “Last Parade”

7. NOFX - Coaster

You may be thinking, “Oh no, another NOFX album?”.  But don’t fear, there are some amazing tracks on this album that shred as hard as the guys did in the old days.

Best Song: “My Orphan Year”

8. Thrice - Beggars

I really like the new Thrice album, compared to the last 4 albums they released as a group.  Certainly shows how they have matured as a band.

Best Song: “In Exile”

9. Alexisonfire - Old Crows/Young Cardinals

I was sceptical if Alexisonfire would be able to return with a great record.  Thankfully Old Crows/Young Cardinals is a return to the heavier style of Watch Out!.

Best Song: “No Rest”

10. Street Sweeper Social Club - Street Sweeper Social Club

Tom Morello’s new group with Boots Riley from The Coup shows how diverse the guitarist can be.  Lyrically, this album feels closer to Rage Against The Machine than Audioslave.

Best Song: “The Squeeze”
